At the beginning of the year, out of everything we were supposed to do, I was looking forward to creating a digital story the least. It seemed like so much work for such a small reward. But now that I have started working on my story, I love it. Every time I get the opportunity to spend a good amount of time on finishing my story I get very excited, and I normally spend way to much time on it, trying to make it perfect.
As far as working on the story goes, I’ve hit a road block. I have recorded my voiceover and picked a song for background. I’ve even learned how to cut out parts of my voiceover that I don’t like any more and to loop the song so it plays my favorite part over and over. But I can’t finish it until I get pictures (and permission) from my family and church to put in the story. In the meantime, I decided to create a second story about my niece. The only problem with that was that I had multiple ideas, so that one video evolved into two. I have a free three month subscription and I plan to take full advantage of it!
Besides the international experience video, I am going to make a story for my sister and brother-in-law’s Christmas present about their children. My sister photographs everything, so I’ll have no shortage of pictures. The third digital story I plan to make is going to feature my youngest niece, Annie. With my sister’s permission I’m going to circulate it on the internet to help raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis.
